About Me
I am a geologist and fine art photographer specializing in black-and-white landscapes that capture the solitude and grandeur of remote places. With nearly 40 years of experience studying the Earth's structure, I have developed a deep appreciation for the forces that shape our planet—tectonics, erosion, and the relentless passage of time. My images blend scientific precision with artistic intuition, distilling fleeting moments into timeless compositions.
My passion for photography grew alongside my career in geology, where I spent decades interpreting rock formations and uncovering hidden details within the Earth's layers. This analytical approach informs my work behind the lens, allowing me to see landscapes in ways others might overlook. Whether capturing the rugged peaks of the Himalayas, the windswept coastlines of the North Atlantic, or the vast wilderness of Alaska, I strive to convey the power and stillness of these spaces.
In 2025, I received honors from several international photography competitions, including the World Masters of Photography Awards, the Fine Art Photography Awards, and Black & White Magazine. One of my awarded images will be featured in a screening at Gallerie LIK in Vienna, Austria in July. My work has also been exhibited internationally at venues such as Blank Wall Gallery in Athens and Valid World Hall in Barcelona. These recognitions and exhibitions reflect a growing appreciation for a body of work shaped by both discipline and devotion. Through my photography, I aim to explore the natural world with fresh eyes—to find wonder in its details, resilience in its forms, and inspiration in its untamed beauty.
